“Let us keep Nammāḻvār—who appeared in Kali Yuga to liberate the people by spreading Vedic knowledge through the divine songs of Āsiriappā; who is an ācārya; and, who is adorned with an effulgent garland of Spanish cherry flowers—in our pure hearts, remember him always, and glorify him.”

“Like an effulgent green-hued mountain of emerald with coral-red shades (lips) covered with (a reddish vest of) a reddish cloud, adorning a bright reddish sun (crown) on the head and (a neck choker of) the moon with cool rays, and decorated with a multitude of bright stars, reclining on the palm of the ocean king, the peerless Supreme Personality of Godhead sprouting a lotus flower from the naval, donning a yellow silk vest, a resplendent crown, a shining neck choker, and many bright ornaments, with reddish eyes and a beautiful mouth, the greenish-hue of His divine body competing with and subduing all other bright hues, reclines in the stormy ocean on the many poison-spitting-headed Ananta Śeṣa, enjoying yoga-nidrā, worshipped by Śiva, Brahmā, Indra and other demigods, and possessing beautiful lotus feet which measured the planetary systems! (Long Live!)

“Instead of desiring to hold, as a crown on the head, the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord who created and swallowed the three planetary systems, and rejecting the nectarean flood of devotion which is sweet like honey, pleasurable and makes one humble and compassionate, many people long for material benefits; let them be so (why should we worry about them?). Will the consciousness of the devotees accept having material opulence, pride, ruling the three planetary systems, and heavenly abode? (Never).”

“Are we qualified to eternally serve the devotees of the Supreme Personality of Godhead who always desires that the three worlds follow dharma and get liberated; who is glorious and is worshipped by the three worlds; who executes His will freely; the chief among the three gods (Viṣṇu, Brahmā, and Śiva); whose chest is illuminated by the ornaments worn; who tied the serpent king Vāsuki around the huge Mandara Mountain and churned the stormy Ocean of Milk, with a thunderous roar which shook the mountains?”

“Will we get the fortune to eternally worship and glorify the lotus feet of the incredible Supreme Lord who became the astonishing cause of the unlimited material objects and living beings when all the worlds and the living beings have been destroyed during mahā-pralaya; who created the expert secondary creator Brahmā, the three-eyed Śiva and other demigods; and, who recreated the three worlds (in the lotus stem) from His navel?”

2582 māmudal aḍip pōdu onṛu kaviḻttalartti * maṇ muḻudum ahappaḍuttu * oṇ suḍar aḍip pōdu

“Will this world surrender to You, the Supreme Personality of Godhead—who extended one of the lotus feet, the anchor of the worlds, and covered the middle planetary system, and stretched up another luminous lotus feet and covered the upper planetary system to the great joy and wonder of Brahmaloka and other demigods who worshipped it with devotion; who possesses eyes resembling multitude of bloomed lotus flowers, reddish lips like the ivy gourd fruit, a head bright like one thousand large suns, and one thousand shoulders like many groves of desire trees—or someone else?”

2583 ōō! ulaginadu iyalvē! * īnṛōḷ irukka maṇai nīrāṭṭi * paḍaittiḍandu uṇḍumiḻn

tolmā māyap piṛaviyuḷ nīṅgā * palmā māyattu aḻundumā naḷirndē     6

“Alas! Alas! Instead of surrendering to the Supreme Personality of Godhead Śrī Nārāyaṇa—who created the cosmic world, once lifted the earth (as Varāha), another time (during pralaya) swallowed the planetary systems, later (after pralaya) brought them out, and measured and secured them (as Vāmana); and always thinking of ways to protect the worlds—akin to ignoring one’s own mother but taking care of some unknown person (imposters) the people display their lowly mind by worshipping various demigods mentioned in some scriptures or mentioned by others; they indulge in sinful actions like sacrificing a goat or a chicken and take that as prasādam; they engage in material activities and sense gratification and thereby never think of getting out of the eternal karmic cycle; O what a pity!”

2584 * naḷir madic caḍaiyanum nānmugak kaḍavuḷum * taḷir oḷi imaiyavar talaivanum mudalā *

perumā māyanai alladu * orumā deyvam matṛṛuḍaiyamō yāmē?     7

“The incredible Lord Nārāyaṇa swallowed everything, without leaving anything—including Śiva who keeps the cool moon on his matted hair, Brahmā, the opulent and luminant Indra, and other demigods and all living beings, all planetary systems including earth, water, fire, air, sky, and all the luminous objects like the sun, and the moon—and kept them in a corner of His stomach and reclined on a tender banyan leaf; leaving such a Supreme Lord performing amazing activities will we surrender to a tiny demigod? (Never)”
